Celebrities who overdid it in 2014: I Salute you.

Happy Monday!

I love the celebs yo. They are fascinating, glamorous and some of them are the greatest artists of our time but occasionally....they over do it. Guess what? We love them anyway.

Here are a few celebrities who overdid it recently:

Leo DiCaprio at Art Basel:

So you're having girlfriend troubles? No big. Just hit up one of the biggest art shows in the world and leave with 20 runway walkers in tow. Leo is an expert on moving on. I am not even disgusted; I'm just impressed. Apparently he is king of the world.

Kate & William and Beyonce & Jay- Z

At this Basketball game, the most powerful players in the room were not wearing jerseys. The Brooklyn nets game had not one, but four HUGE celebs, including three royals ( If you include Queen Bey). Could there be any more power couples?? If they bottled their stardom into a sports drink, maybe the Nets could improve their stats. I think just the fact that these people were near each other is overdoing it. Too much famous, I can't handle it. Neither could that guy in a suit...and Kate I know. I had that same face during an entire Beyonce concert.

Kim Kardashian

I don't know when she's not overdoing it, but her attempt to break the internet belongs in this post. DAT ASS. Is it even real? How do you get that size? Is it squats? Is it an injection of unicorn tears? TELL ME YOUR SECRETS. Ok, I've calmed down.

I love you crazy celebrities,
Sasha

What are we Netflixen right Now?

What am I Netflixen this week? Oh baby there's a WHOLE lot to watch.

Coven.

The current season of American Horror Story had me itching for Season 3. Coven is now available with a Netflix subscription and a few clicks.

What did I forget?

How utterly and fabulously evil is Emma Roberts and her witchy wardrobe?

I mean looook at these outfits...

I also forgot about Kathy Bates and her chamber of horrors. Although now that I remembered I wouldn't mind forgetting again...thanks for putting me off my dinner Mr.Murphy. I think the best scene is when she frightens one of her daughter's suitors by placing his hand inside a bowl of human organs.

You put the C in class Madame!

The one I love

What freaked me out?

This entire movie freaked me out. Peggy from "Mad Men" and the Hollistic Doctor from "The Mindy Project" came together for a very strange tale. If I'm ever in marriage counseling I will slap the doc who tells me to go on a relaxing retreat with my hubby. They go on a trip of pure madness that makes noooo sense. A little spoiler, they find their doppelgangers in a wooded paradise and the look a likes do not have good intentions.

Fun Fact: Akiko Stehrenberger designed this poster look at this amazing work: http://bit.ly/12o08Pb

Women Who Kill...

These women induce spleen splitting laughter! Amy Schumer, Rachel Feinstein, Marina Franklin, and Nikki Glaser had me cackling. Alone at my desk. Loudly. They are so not afraid to go there. They are sexually bold, politically incorrect and you will LOL through every second of it. Netflix is flooded with the kings of comedy. Don't get me wrong I love me some Louie C.K but these women are marching their way to the throne. Watch these comedy queens get reaaaallly inappropriate:

Why am I still laughing? Cuz this...

I love you Netflix,

Sasha

Holiday Movie Series: Bridget Jones's Diary

Pre Watch:

It is officially the season to get peppermint mochas, to overwear your knitwear and to watch the holiday movies you love. For me, I have to wait for just the right amount of time to watch these films. I don't like to rush it. If I watch "Love Actually" too early then forgive me Father, for I have sinned! I've decided to watch "Bridget Jones's Diary" first. This movie makes me think of a drunk thirty year old heroine who sings "All By Myself" in Holiday pjs. I think all of us ladies can relate a little. It's hard to be alone during the holidays.

I always find this movie hopeful. Every woman, no matter how much vodka she consumes between Christmas and New Year's Eve can find the love of her life. Can't she? Ok, I'm going to get watching and then I'll move on to the post watch. I'm SO excited. I rented this on Youtube for $2.99. A great deal if I do say so myself! BRB I've got to go watch Renee Zellweger get into some embarrassingly dark experiences on her journey to true love. What's your favorite Bridget debacle? Tell me in the comments!

Post Watch:
My Favorite Quotes:

"You have no messages." - Bridget's answering machine

"I thought it might be a charitable thing to take your skirt out for dinner and try to fatten it up a bit." -Daniel

"I like you very much...just the way you are." -Mark

Most Epic Moment:

Bridget finally gets the romance she deserves, a small price to pay for frost bite on the arse.

Final feelings:

Great film. It's everything a romantic comedy should be. This story set the bar for romcoms in the 2000s, and I have to say there are very few others that rival its greatness. I only wish the sequel hadn't happened, but we can't have everything we want! Tune in soon for the next movie in this series "When Harry Met Sally".

I love Meghan Trainor's Song

Was it the catchy melody? The adorable music video? The Z100 Top 40 brainwashing? Nope. I love "All About that Bass" for what it says. While I of course adore the big booty tunes from Nikki Minaj and J.LO, they are missing something for me. I know these butt blasting songs supposed to be fun and pop culture centric but I'm sorry fan girls.....they are repetitive. I get it, the girls love the ass, the boys love the ass, and Drake clearly LOVES the ass. So what? That doesn't mean anything. Meghan seems to be able put out a hit song and send out a positive message simultaneously. Think what you want but little girls are listening to these songs just as much as us women in our twenties. I would love my future daughter to hear that it's ok if you're not a size two, and I want her to hear that "every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top". I want her to enjoy Ariana Grande as much as I do, but I don't want her to think she has to look like her to be a star.

That's all for now,

Sasha

Meaningful Horror Movies to watch before Halo's Eve.

We all adore a good scary movie. The girl runs up the stairs instead of outside of the house; the group splits up when the morons should have stuck together, and the killer turns out to be the suspicious hot boyfriend. (Who is not in high school but is a 28-year-old Hollywood it-boy with abs).

There may be a general horror genre, but here are the films that have really set themselves apart from the painfully predictable.

1. Gone Girl

The casting was perfect; the music gave the audience heart palpitations, and Rosamund Pike was mesmerizing. This Gillian Flynn creation isn't your typical sex scandal thriller. It asks the question; How well do you really know your significant other? If you haven't read it then you won't guess the twist. Gone Girl is a very refreshing story, and it would be worthy of an investigation from Sherlock Holmes himself. I wouldn't recommend seeing this with your husband but if you do...don't be surprised if he disappears on you afterwards.

2. Silence of the Lambs

I've been a fan of this cinematic creep fest for years. The Silence of the Lambs has it all: A female hero, not one but two killers, and...helloooo Clarice, it has Anthony Hopkins! The symbols in this movie are fascinating. It is a mystery waiting for us to solve, and there are several lessons in psychology along the way. Silence of the Lambs is not a shallow story, and it's not for the shallow stomached.

3.Carrie

While the newest version of Carrie has the amazing starlet Chole Grace Moetz--- Sissy Spacek still takes the cake as the telekinetic teen. The older version is scarier. It has the authenticity of an old town and the spirit of a different time. Bullying is taken to the next level of evil in this cult classic. You see a different side of baby John Travolta, and you can feel the wrath of Carrie's religiously insane mother. If it's your first time watching it...don't skip the ending.

4. Cabin in the Woods

Oh, I love a good twist. Cabin in the woods is the best surprise. It starts out with a stereotypical group of college kids, and there is even the token stoner. This spectacular spookfest has tons of surprises and creatures that only live in your weirdest nightmares. There is a MERMAN, people. I give this film major cred for its originality. Just don't get super attached to any characters, and you'll make it through. The cutesy college kids? You could say that their fate is up to the Gods...

5. Prisoners

I was LIVID that this movie didn't receive any oscar noms. What an incredible film. Sure I was upset, angry, and very concerned about the children but it was a great story. Paul Dano was mesmerizing as he tends be in every movie. Big shout out to Jake Gyllenhaal for being the badass cop you'll love. There is no point during the film that you'll feel hope. Salvation comes when you least expect it. Prisoners displays humanity in an interesting way. It shows the way people react to tragedy on a spectrum, anywhere from heroic to drug addiction (I'm talking to you Maria Bello).

6. The Blair Witch Project

I was seven when this movie came out and as much as I begged and pleaded, no one would let me watch it. So I gave up and forgot, but when I turned 17, I finally got my wish. It was just like when the characters from Juno saw it on Starz. Except I didn't get impregnated by Michael Cera, I watched the movie. Say what you will, this movie was brilliant. The marketing, the mockumentary, the lack of a map! I was so scared after seeing it that at 17, I slept with the lights on for a week. It's amazing what happens to your mind when you never see the villain. Let your imagination run wild as you watch the Blair Witch bitch.

Go scare yourself silly,
Sasha

For The Love of Music

Watch this beautiful rendition of "God Only Knows" originally by The Beach Boys. This song is special for more reasons than there are celebrities in this video. If you love music as much as I do then I think, you'll enjoy this.

BBC Music is off to a beautiful start.

Fall asleep to this tonight,
Sasha

AHS Title Sequence will have you Sh*ting your pants with Excitement!

Stop motion + baby doll heads + clowns = "Yup. Sleeping with the lights on tonight."

If you haven't seen the main sequence for American Horror Story: Freak Show yet, then stop what you're doing. I graduated from an Art and Design school that creates amazing motion and animation work, and I am dazzled by this creation. Not only is it scary but it was created with a tedious attention to detail. If the show is as good as the main sequence, then we really have something to look forward to this season. Enjoy my little freaks:

What is going on with that doll's anatomy at 42 sec? Straaange.

Have a freaky Friday,
Sasha
