Pre Watch:
It is officially the season to get peppermint mochas, to overwear your knitwear and to watch the holiday movies you love. For me, I have to wait for just the right amount of time to watch these films. I don't like to rush it. If I watch "Love Actually" too early then forgive me Father, for I have sinned! I've decided to watch "Bridget Jones's Diary" first. This movie makes me think of a drunk thirty year old heroine who sings "All By Myself" in Holiday pjs. I think all of us ladies can relate a little. It's hard to be alone during the holidays.
I always find this movie hopeful. Every woman, no matter how much vodka she consumes between Christmas and New Year's Eve can find the love of her life. Can't she? Ok, I'm going to get watching and then I'll move on to the post watch. I'm SO excited. I rented this on Youtube for $2.99. A great deal if I do say so myself! BRB I've got to go watch Renee Zellweger get into some embarrassingly dark experiences on her journey to true love. What's your favorite Bridget debacle? Tell me in the comments!
Post Watch:
My Favorite Quotes:
"You have no messages." - Bridget's answering machine
"I thought it might be a charitable thing to take your skirt out for dinner and try to fatten it up a bit." -Daniel
"I like you very much...just the way you are." -Mark
Most Epic Moment:
Bridget finally gets the romance she deserves, a small price to pay for frost bite on the arse.
Final feelings:
Great film. It's everything a romantic comedy should be. This story set the bar for romcoms in the 2000s, and I have to say there are very few others that rival its greatness. I only wish the sequel hadn't happened, but we can't have everything we want! Tune in soon for the next movie in this series "When Harry Met Sally".
